Off To… Tampa?

Sometimes I forget that the US has a lot of great places to explore. It sounds crazy but I am often so focused on flying to another country that I forget that my own country can be just an adventure as anywhere else.

Lauren and I both have jobs which enable us to work longer hour days therefore taking off more days. It works well as we both usually work around 3-4 days a week and try to travel on the rest. Our schedules don’t always match up but when they do we try to go somewhere fun. Something we’ve been doing for a while now is flying into a city just for the night. Explore a little, grab some dinner and then fly out the next morning. Not really a vacation but more of a date night.

We both have tomorrow off so we’re heading to Tampa, Florida. It’s winter in Chicago… and 90s in Florida. A day in the sun will be good. Lauren is a beach person and I am a drinks by the beach person so we even each other out nicely.

I’ve never been to Tampa though I’ve been to Florida numerous times so I won’t be crossing a new state off my list. Always a bummer when you can’t add a new state/country to the travel list but I’ll survive–Thursday I am heading to Seoul, South Korea. Looks like I’ll be able to cross that off my list.
